Trat is Thailand’s eastern- most province, facong the Gulf of Thailand and Cambodia and located about 315 kilometers from Bangkok. Residang Kamport Resisdence
On Lak Muang Road, this is an old 3-stories building that was once used as the residence of the French governor when the town was occupied in 1904-1907. Today, it has been reconstructed to its own original condition and used as the provincial Bureau of Community based Correction. |

Wat Buppharam
Built in the Ayutthaya era, this temple it features the oldest wooden vihan in the country. The architectural style and remaining wall murals are of the early Ratanakosin influence with a mix of Chinese influence. The temple’s museum houses scores of valuable ancient relics, Buddha statues, Chinese and European porcelain items. |

It is a community 8 kms. From Trat’ s city on the Trat-Laem Ngop rd. This village is famous for the headwear called “Nhop Nam Chiao.” Ngop is the local product made of bamboo and palm leaves; furthermore, Ban Nam Chiao is also a good place to purchase the shrimp paste, dried shrimp, etc. |

Ban Haat Lek (Haat Lek Village)
It is the border of Thailand and Cambodia at Klong Yai District.. Haat Lek Village is the ideal –place to purchase inexpensive goods from abroad. At this point, the panorama of Cambodia can be seen. Haat Lek Village is also the permanent spot where tourists can pass to Cambodia or Thailand. There are immigration offices of both Thailand and Cambodia at this point where tourists can get a visa to Cambodia. |
